Seema Balaney
Seema earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. She then moved to New York to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 2020.
Seema recognizes the value of human movement and its significance in our lives, being a dancer since age five and up to the collegiate level. Seema was drawn to physical therapy as it combines two of her interests – healthcare & teaching. She believes patient education and empowerment are two key elements to successful rehabilitation. While in PT school, Seema gained valuable clinical exposure in both inpatient & outpatient settings. After completing advanced coursework in Adult Neurorehabilitation, Seema went on to become certified in LSVT-BIG, a protocol tailored to patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
Seema is excited to be back home in Chicago and help treat patients from all walks of life. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, hiking, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family.
