PJ Pruszynski

PTDPT

P.J. graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelors in Exercise Science. She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Emory University.

P.J. is a strong proponent of preventative medicine. She is certified to perform screenings using the SFMA and FMS systems in order to diagnose movement dysfunctions in the presence or absence of pain. She has advanced training in spinal manipulations from the Institute of Clinical Excellence and in manual medicine from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has also taken various courses in dry needling.

P.J.  has a passion for intervening with patients suffering from concussions and other dizziness/vestibular disorders, such as vestibular neuritis/labyrinthitis, BPPV, Meniere’s, migraines, and small vessel strokes.  She studied alongside experts in the field at the world-renowned Duke University course for management of dizziness and balance disorders. Her advanced training in manual medicine, pelvic floor therapy, and trigger point dry needling complement her specialization in vestibular rehabilitation, which allows her to take “a whole-body approach”.

P.J. has recently begun integrating power lifting into her personal exercise routine and into her treatment sessions with her patients. P.J. recognizes that often a patient’s system is insufficiently loaded or challenged in traditional physical therapy care. Real strength is essential for day-to-day living, but especially for endurance athletes. Intentional strength training is generally the missing link in an injury riddled athlete.

P.J. believes her strengths in active listening allow her to relate to her patients on a deeper level, which makes tailoring a treatment experience that much easier.

When P.J. is not working with her patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying out new restaurants with her husband. She is also a mom to her beloved 2 dogs: Addie and Enzo
