Nadine Shakra

DPT

Nadine graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. She then went on to graduate from Wayne State University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Nadine is passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and regain confidence in their bodies. With experience treating a wide range of conditions—including orthopedic injuries, neurologic disorders, geriatric mobility challenges, and pelvic floor dysfunction— she focuses on individualized care that meets each person where they are.

Nadine became interested in physical therapy after watching rehab videos during driving school — seeing people regain movement and independence after car accidents was fascinating to her. That initial curiosity led her to explore the field further, and quickly came to appreciate the depth and impact of PT as a career.

During physical therapy school, she was fascinated by the blend of science, movement, and human connection. What stood out most was the individuality of patient care — no two cases are ever the same, even with similar diagnoses. This insight became even more meaningful as she worked with patients and learned from them directly: effective treatment is not one-size-fits-all, it is personal.

Nadine was drawn to outpatient orthopedics because of the variety and complexity it offers. Each patient presents with a unique history, lifestyle, and movement pattern, which allows her to stay curious, adaptable, and collaborative. She approaches every evaluation as a conversation — listening, assessing, and then designing a treatment plan with the patient that fits the person, not just the injury.
