Maya Fields

Hello! My name is Maya Fields. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Performance with a concentration in Sports Medicine from Howard University. My goal is to become a Physical Therapist Assistant and eventually continue my education to become a Physical Therapist.

My interest in athletic training began in high school while playing basketball for the Nicolet Varsity Team. However, my passion for physical therapy truly developed during my senior year, after I dislocated my knee during a game. The injury led to knee surgery and months of rehabilitation in physical therapy. Experiencing both the challenges and the victories of knee rehabilitation showed me the powerful impact physical therapy can have. It inspired me to help others find the same strength, confidence, and motivation that helped me return to the activities I love.

In my free time, I love spending time with my family and playing video games. I also enjoy working out, training for basketball, and playing recreationally. Since my competitive basketball career was cut short, I’m gradually getting back into the sport and rediscovering my love for the game.
