Ashley Cathcart

Ashley graduated from the University of Alabama in 2008 with her Bachelor’s in Human Environmental Science and a minor in Dance.  Ashley’s passion for dance, human movement, and health and wellness lead her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.  In 2013, she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University.  

Ashley has a thorough understanding of dance medicine and performing arts physical therapy.  Ashley has spent over 20 years in training of classical and contemporary ballet, modern, tap, jazz, and hip- hop style dancing, in addition to serving as a Senior Company member for Evolving Pointe Dance Company, participating in intensives with the Joffrey Ballet, and teaching locally.  Her personal history with lumbar disc and hip injury brought her to study Pilates and receive certification to instruct from Power Pilates.  Additionally, Ashley has completed the NeuroTour Performing Arts fellowship and served as the resident, full- time, physical therapist for the Broadway Production of “West Side Story”.  She is grateful to have been able to combine her love for travel and performing arts medicine in working with Broadway performers in numerous Broadway productions.  

Ashley is a manual therapist who is certified in Active Release Technique (ART) and spinal manipulation from the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. She has also earned Advanced Certification in Integrative Dry Needling technique.   Her clinical specialties include: manual therapy, performing arts physical therapy, dry needling, active release technique, Pilates, return to sports rehabilitation, and injury prevention/ wellness. 

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys strolling the Beltline, taking yoga/Pilates classes, attending wine tastings, and catching up with friends over brunch. She has aspirations to leave the country to explore at least once per year!
